Perrymans
Three Generations of Perryman's have been baking their famous products in the same North Adelaide location since 1925. The front of the shop is loaded with dozens of varieties of cakes and pastries. Neil is the 3rd generation of Perryman's to continue the tradition. Fortunately for Neil and his wife Judy, it's not a long way to work, because they live at the back of the Bakery. The distinction between work and home has always been a bit blurred for Neil... it was his grandparents who started the bakery in 1925... their son Max then took over before handing the apron and rolling pin onto Neil. Neil likes to try a few new ideas each year, often from Judy's development, and whether or not they continue to make them depends entirely on whether or not the customers like them. You see Perryman's know their business is based on tradition... many of the items that come out of the oven each day are from Grandma Mathilde Perryman's original German recipes. The desire for Perryman's products goes well beyond the state. Neil and his staff have packed and sent goods interstate and even to desperate South Australians in the United States, France and Italy.
